Drive! Its a great experience

Drivers pick up food and deliver to pantries.   The experience is incredible.  You will feel it. You are the conduit, connecting the donor to the pantry.  You are what makes “A Simple Gesture” simple!  Meet donors and see where the food goes.

HOW IT WORKS

As a Pick Up date approaches you will be asked if you can drive.  If you can, great!! If not, no worries.   No pressure, no obligation.

When you get the email or text, let us know;  “yes” or “no”.     If you answered “yes”, we then look at how many drivers we need.   We go down the list and “confirm” that number.    You may get confirmed, or we may ask you to be on standby.

You’ll get a reminder as the pick up day approaches.   When your route is ready you’ll get an email or text saying “your route is ready, click to see it“.    That opens your site page.  Click “Driver Route” and you will get a list of addresses that have been sequenced.   ”Select” the first stop and then click “open in Google Maps” to get turn by turn directions.

When you are done, click “Finish” and that will take you to your drop off location, a pantry or Food Bank.

That’s it!    But if you want more details, read on.  Or click here to open the “Driver User guide” that is always a click away on your smart phone as you run your route.  Just click “Help” in the upper right part of your screen.    If you still have questions, write to us at Info@ASGHelps.org.

But better to write or call your Event Manger to get a faster response.  You get that information by logging into the site page, it’s on the top of each page.   If you need help logging in, click this button.

Each chapter has a primary contact.   You can get this email, and often a cell number, by going to your personal site page.   Go to Question #1 for more information to get to your page.   Once there, look at the top (green bar section) to see your chapter admin information.

You can also talk to your Event Manager, this is the person that runs the event coming up.   Click on your EVENTS page to get that information.  Its toward the bottom of the EVENTS page.

If you aren’t registered for your chapter, you need to do that first.  Click JoinASG.org and follow the screen instructions.   Your last question in those 4 quick steps is to set your driver preference.      To log in, refer to Question #1 for more assistance.

If you are already registered, log in and click “Profile”.  Scroll down to the “DRIVER” section and set your preference.

We send out automatic reminders for the donors in an event.  Drivers are a different story.   We first need to see how many drivers we need, then we can determine how many to ask.   Your Event Manager will do that about a week before the event.

Keep an eye out for an email asking if you are available on the specific date and time of the event.  If so, click the “UPDATE DRIVER STATUS” link in that email, and answer yes or no.

Once the Event Manager can see how many said yes, they will then decide now many to “confirm” or to set as “stand by”.   You’ll get an email or text to let you know.

If you are ever curious, send an email to your Event Manager.   You can get that information by referring to Question #1 above.

This is great!  We call it a co-pilot.  Just tell your Event Manager. (go to Question #1 to learn how to log in to get the Event Manager information).  They will then set that donor as your co-pilot.  That moves you both to the 1st stop on your route.  Update your bag counts and proceed to the next stop.

If you’d like to take a time-out from event notifications, it’s easy.   Use the Log In question at the top of the list.   Click on “PROFILE” on your site page.   Scroll down to “OUT UNTIL” and select the date you want to restart your notifications.

If you wish to opt out of all future notifications, you will find a “Driver” section on that same PROFILE page.

We are sorry to see you go!  If you’re moving, email us to see if we can “move” your account to another chapter.  Info@SimpleGesture.org.

If you need to end your driver status completely, here are the steps.

1. Go to your PERSONAL SITE PAGE (see log in instructions under the first question at the top).

2. Click “MANAGE PROFILE”.   Scroll down to the DONOR section.   Click the button to change your donor status, and select the option to no longer be a donor of any type.

3.  Be sure to click “Save”

If you are a donor, and you wish to discontinue that, you’ll see a “DONOR” status button just above.

If you wouldn’t mind, we’d like to know why you decided to opt out. Please send us an email at info@SimpleGesture.org

THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR PROGRAM!!

Ask your Chapter Admin to set up a “Drop-Off Community Campaign”. You can find out how to reach your chapter admin by looking at question #2 above.

This method works great for a school, business, health club, or any other group may just want to have donors bring the bags to a central place.

Your donors register using a special QR code or URL link you send them.  They get notifications to bring their bag to the place you designate, during the date/time window you designate.   It works great!

Log in to your Site Page (see Question #1) and you’ll see how to contact your Site Admin, it’s at the top/middle of each page.

Ask your Chapter Admin to set up a “Pick-Up Community Campaign” for you.  You can find out how to reach your chapter admin by looking at question #2 above.

This works great for a neighborhood where one person (or several) go around and pick up those bags.

You contact your neighbors with a special QR code or clickable URL link, asking them to register for your ‘Pick Up Community Campaign”.    They will get an email or text a few days before the pick up date, reminding them to leave a bag out front.

You decide the pick up date and time.

You then go around, pick up the bags and take them to the pantry or Food Bank you choose.   Youa

To reach your Chapter Admin, log in to your Site Page (see Question #1).  Their information is on the top center of each page.
